Nestled in the historic village of Morpeth, Morpeth Gallery stands as a beacon of artistry and creativity in the Hunter Region. Boasting a collective 1,144 years of professional art experience among the artists it represents, the gallery has earned its place as a prime destination for art lovers and culture enthusiasts.

Morpeth Gallery's commitment to showcasing the best of Australian art is evident in its carefully curated exhibitions. The artists featured here represent diverse styles, from traditional to contemporary, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in a kaleidoscope of artistic expressions.

The building housing the Morpeth Gallery has a fascinating story of its own. It was originally constructed in the 1860s and served as a general store during the town's early days. Over the years, it has witnessed the ebb and flow of time, preserving the memories of countless generations. Today, it stands as a testament to the town's heritage and a hub for creativity and artistic expression.

The gallery proudly exhibits a diverse range of paintings, sculptures, ceramics, and more, capturing the essence of Australian art. From stunning landscapes that transport you to the heart of the country to thought-provoking contemporary pieces, every creation has a unique tale to tell.

The first floor features traditional Australian landscape and wildlife art. With an incredible range of artwork by recognised and internationally awarded artists, Morpeth Gallery specialises in investment art. There are typically 300 artworks on the walls to purchase at any given time.

Morpeth Gallery was founded by the esteemed Trevor Richards OAM in 1991. Since its inception, the gallery has exclusively showcased the works of professional and dedicated artists who consider their craft not just a hobby but a serious business. As visitors step into the gallery, they are invariably left awestruck by the remarkable calibre of art adorning its walls, available for purchase.

Throughout the year, Morpeth Gallery proudly hosts art exhibitions featuring the works of individual artists represented by the gallery. Each show captures the artist's unique vision and mastery of their chosen medium, ensuring a diverse and enriching experience for all who visit.

Morpeth Gallery is open from 10am to 5pm, Thursdays to Sundays (and Public Holiday Mondays) – entry is free. Visit in person at 5 Green St, Morpeth or online at
