The Romantics

The Romantics

At Morpeth Gallery

SAT 6 + SUN 7 OCTOBER

Originating in the late 18th century, romanticism is an artistic movement stressing strong emotion, imagination and freedom. Artists of this romantic period aim to capture these ideals in their work, hoping to inspire an emotional response in their audience.

From its inception, romanticism was preoccupied with landscape and nature, and this exhibition at Morpeth Gallery is no exception. Headlined by the award-winning, internationally renowned Artist James Hough and including marine artist Ian Hansen, Max Mannix, Werner Filipich and Raymond Ward-Thompson, the collection evokes feelings of nostalgia, stirs life’s mysteries and portrays a grandeur of nature.

This rare, joint exhibition of the works of exceptional artists will be held over two days only and is a great opportunity to meet the artists, watch them paint and purchase their paintings.

Free entry and car parking. Morpeth Gallery – 175 Swan Street Morpeth.
