An exciting collective of over 75 artists and designers will converge on Maitland Regional Art Gallery on 10 November for the highly anticipated annual Olive Tree Christmas Twilight Market. Featuring a Christmas theme, the market will provide visitors access to a wide range of beautifully crafted contemporary products all in an exciting market setting.
“There are so many reasons to shop local – visitors can discover unique gift ideas, and be assured that they can pick-up, small batch, ethically created handmade goods. Each purchase means you are supporting local artists and championing creative talent,” says the markets Founder, Justine Gaudry.
“There is also the bonus of finding Christmas gifts that you know will be unique on Christmas Day, and being aware of contributing to the local economy by making a stand against mass-produced imported goods,” she said.
Ms Gaudry said that the Christmas Twilight Market will include free Christmas craft activities for kids from 4-6pm, roving street performers, an exciting live music line-up under the gallery trees, and once the shopping and sampling is done, visitors can bring along a picnic rug, and join friends and family, for an early dinner from street food purveyors.
“We are excited to welcome the communities of Maitland and the Hunter Valley for a fun evening and community celebration. It's a great opportunity to spend the evening with friends at one of Maitland best cultural offerings. Not only can customers experience the market but they can visit the gallery by night which is a fantastic opportunity.”
Ms Gaudry said that limited positions remained available and applications were still open for the emerging artist stall start-up package, "we encourage local artists and designers to apply to join our creative community on the night. We are particularly keen to feature artists from Maitland and the Hunter." For more information visit
