A Vintage Event Hunter Valley Wine Festival

The 7th annual Hunter Valley Wine Festival will be held on Saturday 29 June 2019, promising a vintage event with the best of Hunter Valley wines, craft beer, local foods and entertainment.

Wines from over 60 of the Hunter Valley’s best-known and boutique wineries will be available for tasting at the Festival, which is being held at the Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley between 11am and 5pm.

The Festival will add a range of new attractions this year including interactive 'Expressions’ sessions featuring Organic Wine and Cheese Matching with Tamburlaine Organic Wines, Ascella Organic Wines and Macquariedale Organic Wines matched with cheese from Hunter Valley Cheese Factory (12.30pm); and Beer & Cider session hosted by Sydney Brewery Hunter Valley (2.30pm).

A feature this year will be the diversity of wine styles on offer. While the Hunter Valley is best regarded for its Semillon, Chardonnay and Shiraz varietals, this year will see a far wider spectrum of local wines on offer for tasting including Verdelho, Tempranillo and Sangiovese as well as sparkling and Rose styles.

The Festival is ideal for those who love craft beer as well, with Sydney Brewery Hunter Valley on site offering behind-the-scenes tours and premium beer and cider tastings throughout the day. Jarrod Sherman and David D'Souza will offer live entertainment, and a wide selection of food stalls will operate to provide the best of Hunter Valley cuisine.

The Hunter Valley Wine Festival is a family-friendly event, with children receiving complimentary entry to the Festival, where they will enjoy a variety of activities including a jumping castle, train rides, carousel, mini car rides and face painting.

There is plenty of onsite parking at Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley, and for visitors from Newcastle, a bus service is available. See www.huntervalleywinefestival.com for more details.

Once again, the Festival will support the local Rural Fire Service, with fundraising activities on the day.

Presale tickets for the Festival are available for just $15 online (plus booking fee) and $22 at the door. Tickets include festival entry, five tasting tickets and a tasting glass..
