Peterson House 2015 Sparkling Botrytis Semillon – RRP $33 Peterson House are recognised specialists producer of sparkling wines in the Hunter Valley. Their aim is to produce a wine for all tastes and occasions. TASTING An exciting interpretation of Botrytis Semillon, this wine has all the complexity of still Botrytis with an added zest, and is perfumed with honeysuckle blossom, marmalade and ripe pineapple. The Botrytis character adds a sharp note to the rich fruit, and all the richness of Botrytis Semillon is captured with the bubbles – adding acidity and a crispness to the finish plus a slight sherbert character. The apricot and marmalade characters hit you up front and complement the mixed peel and citrus aromas. Emma's Cottage Phoebe 2019 – RRP $30 Though not strictly a dessert wine, Phoebe is a little sweet with a lovely light blush – a bit like her namesake, a pale strawberry blond, a sweet young lady who has an answer for everything. TASTING Made with Semillon and Verdelho with just a hint of Shiraz there is a taste of sweet guava, ripe lime and a touch of delicious apple. FOOD MATCH Perfect with a seafood laksa or Sri Lankan chicken curry or with a sweet date and walnut log. CELLARING Enjoy now.

 

Lucy's Run Sweet Sophie 375ml – RRP $30 ($25 for wine club members) Made by local Hunter winemaker Nick Paterson, this sweeter style Verdelho is from our boutique single vineyard. Bright, fresh and beautifully balanced, Sophie has a range of citrus and tropical fruit flavours. TASTING This little sweetie caresses the palate with hints of pineapple and passionfruit, with honey and green apple tones now showing. FOOD MATCH Enjoy well-chilled as an aperitif or digestif, or with lighter desserts and strong cheeses. Moorebank Vineyard 2014 Truman’s Late Harvest Semillon – RRP $20 Moorebank has been in the Hunter Valley since 1986 and is a family owned and operated vineyard estate where sustainably grown grapes produce memorable wines that are made with style and character. TASTING This 2014 late harvested Semillon has intense apricot and tropical fruits on the nose and a refreshing light, delicate palate with a delightfully clean, floral finish. Conserve water, drink Moorebank wine. FOOD MATCH An absolute stand out when paired with a spicy curry or Thai cuisine and of course a perfect match with rich styled desserts and all types of cheeses. Constable Estate Constable Estate Muscat – RRP $40 This breathtaking wine is blend of 10 and 15 year old Muscat. It is rich and intense. Perfect for sipping by the fire with friends. TASTING This mature Muscat has a bouquet of raisins and spices, luscious on the palate with toffee characters. FOOD MATCH Premium dark chocolate. CELLARING This wine has already been matured in barrels and no further ageing in the bottle is required.

 

Peterson House Fortified Tawny – RRP $33 Peterson House are recognised specialists producer of sparkling wines in the Hunter Valley. Their aim is to produce a wine for all tastes and occasions. TASTING Light caramel and coffee, with hints of vibrant amber. The aromas are of spicy fruit cake and raisins. The bubbles lift these notes and are precipitous of the flavours to come. The palate is rich, sophisticated and has depth from the aged Tawny components. The mid palate displays a blend of ripe spicy fruit, toffee and caramel. As it lingers subtle vanillin oak and nutty aged walnuts add to the overall complexity. FOOD MATCH Enjoy with chocolate mud cake or dark chocolate tart. CELLARING Drink now.

 

Mistletoe Wines 2015 Petite Muscat – RRP $18 This dessert wine is made from the white Muscat grape, Muscat Blanc á Petit Grains grown on the Mistletoe Vineyard. TASTING Pure grape juice fortified with neutral grape spirit allows the fragrance and delicacy of the Muscat grape to show to its full advantage. Rose petals, orange blossom and musk perfumes abound on the nose with a fresh, clean, beautifully weighted palate to finish. FOOD MATCH Excellent with fruit-based desserts and full-bodied cheeses.
