Peterson House

2015 Brut Rosé – RRP $29

Peterson House are a recognised specialist producer of sparkling wines in the Hunter Valley. Their aim is to produce a wine for all tastes and occasions.

TASTING This wine has a Salmon hue from the addition of a red wine liqueur. The aroma abounds with strawberry fruit characters and fresh citrus. The aroma is lively, fruity and has a hint of roasted nuts. This crisp, dry style Rosé has subtle berry sweetness up front but this blends with some citrus notes. The mid palate has a creaminess from the yeast autolysis which gives depth and complexity. The sweet note quickly subsides and is replaced by a fresh citrus acid zing which lingers in the mouth long after the last sip. Your palate is left refreshed and ready for another.

FOOD MATCH This is a great aperitif style. Great with canapés and seafood – oysters, smoked salmon or freshly peeled prawns.

McGuigan Wines
2018 Cellar Select Rosé – RRP $25

2018 was an outstanding Hunter Vintage given the hot and dry conditions. The 2018 Cellar Select Rosé was produced using a combination of Shiraz (54%) and Tempranillo (46%). The grapes were machine harvested and immediately transported to the winery, where they were pressed into stainless steel tanks. The juice was drained from the skins immediately, which has resulted in an incredible pale pink colour.

TASTING This refreshing Rosé is bursting with flavours of red cherry, marzipan and fuji apple, which are complemented by a clean, crisp finish.

FOOD MATCH Try serving with beef tartare, horseradish mustard, capers and crostini.

Krinklewood

2018 Francesca Rosé – RRP $25

This vintage the Francesca Rosé is made from 50% Mourvédre and 50% Merlot. The fruit was picked early and pressed lightly where it stayed in contact with the skins for minimal time. After pressing, the wine was settled and fermented like a white wine, at cool temperatures.
It was filtered, blended and bottled early to retain freshness of primary fruit flavours.

TASTING Offering a delicate pale baby pink colour, this Rosé displays an attractive aroma of Turkish delight, strawberry and citrus blossom. The palate is refreshingly dry with aromatic hints of rose petals and violets. A beautiful lunchtime wine, best enjoyed well chilled in its youth.

 Greenway Wines
2019 Greenway 'Sabine' Rosé - RRP $28

So you look at this wine and wonder am I going to lurve it? It is in the cutest , sexiest skittle bottle ever seen. It is a mesmerising salmon pink. It is dry and it is zingy (the label says so... but is it  true?) It really does smell of strawberries and Turkish Delight (the label IS true!)

TASTING It really really is super dry and tingly zesty zingy and ... although the label (whose veracity was never in doubt) says it is made from Merlot... you weren’t really really sure  ... until ....the fabulous finish of Merlot-ish dusty blueberries hits you... and you know... it definitely is made from Merlot.

FOOD MATCH Such a sensational little wine can happily be consumed on its own, but it would also be spectacular with fresh prawns or salmon. Think too....Alfresco dining - spring salads, light chicken and pork dishes.

Pokolbin Estate’s Nebbiolo Rosé is grown at our Belebula Estate on Old North Road and has the terroirto suit.

TASTING A traditional dry European style Rosé.  Kissed with wild strawberries and a twist of Campari on the palate Finishing with savoury fresh acidity, lingering and dry.

FOOD MATCH Pork dishes, a great luncheon wine or with fruit platters and cheese.

CELLARING Good cellaring potential but with age the colour does become deeper and rustic.
