Olive Tree Twilight Market – November 23

October 31, 2019

An exciting collective of over 80 artists, designers and street food stalls will converge on Maitland Regional Art Gallery for the highly anticipated yearly Olive Tree Christmas Twilight Market on Saturday, November 23rd. The final date of Olive Tree for 2019 will feature a Christmas theme, and give visitors access to a wide range of beautifully crafted contemporary products, all in an exciting market setting.

“There are so many reasons to shop local – visitors can discover unique gift ideas, and be assured that they can pick-up, small-batch ethically created handmade goods. Each purchase means you are supporting local artists and championing creative talent. There are the added bonuses of finding a Christmas gift that you know will be unique on Christmas Day, that you will be contributing to the local economy and making a stand against mass-produced imported goods,” Founder, Justine Gaudry said.

The Christmas Twilight Market will include free Christmas Craft activities for kids from 4-6pm, roving street performers, an exciting live music line-up under the gallery trees, and once the shopping and sampling are done, visitors can bring along a picnic rug, and join friends and family, for an early dinner from street food purveyors.

“We are excited to welcome the communities of Maitland and the Hunter Valley for a fun evening, and community celebration of creativity. It's a great opportunity to spend the evening with friends at one of Maitlands best cultural offerings. Not only can customers experience the market, but they can visit the gallery by night, which is a fantastic opportunity.”

Ms Gaudry said that limited positions remained available and applications were still open for the emerging artist stall start-up package, "We encourage local artists and designers to apply to join our creative community on the night. We are particularly keen to feature artists from Maitland and the Hunter."
