Down to Earth Wines from Allandale

December 2, 2019

After forty years of winemaking, Allandale’s philosophy is simple – to make smart, flavoursome wines with contemporary appeal. A boutique winery in the heart of Lovedale, Allandale has a much-celebrated portfolio of wines made from their own estate vineyards as well as carefully sourced fruit from New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.

Allandale has successfully cemented its reputation amongst the wine industry for being one of Australia’s finest Chardonnay and Semillon producers. In addition to its much-loved Hunter Chardonnay, Semillon and Shiraz, Allandale has developed an enviable reputation for producing award-winning contemporary favourites, most recently winning Rosé of the Year (Australia and NZ) with their 2018 Classic Dry Rosé at the 2019 Winestate Wine of the Year Awards. You will also find their cult favourite Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Tempranillo.

Established in 1978, Allandale’s cellar door experience has successfully cemented its reputation amongst connoisseurs and novices alike thanks to their down to earth and knowledgeable approach. Take a trip to the winery, and you’ll be greeted at the door by Allandale’s resident wine dogs, Sonny and Baxter. Their friendly cellar door staff will take you through a guided tasting to find a wine you will adore. The quaint cellar door allows guests to sit amongst modern winemaking equipment for an immersive experience, or you can enjoy your tasting lounging on the lawn while you take in the breathtaking panoramic views over the vineyard to the Brokenback Mountain Range.

Whether you are an accomplished wine lover or just starting your journey, a visit to Allandale is a must. With an ever-evolving selection, you’re bound to keep coming back again and again.

If you don’t have the opportunity to visit in person, the entire range is available for purchase through their website, over the phone or via email. Visit www.allandalewinery.com.au, phone 4990 4526 or email wines@allandalewinery.com.au.
