Stop and Stay at RidgeView Estate

If the idea of a lengthy drive home following a luxuriously long lunch and cellar door tasting of award-winning wines doesn’t float your boat (and let's face it you may end up starring in the next episode of RBT), then RidgeView Cottages on Sweetwater Road in Pokolbin is the sanctuary you’ve been searching for.

Nestled in an idyllic setting of majestic spotted gums and ironbarks and overlooking waterways circumscribed by natural bushland and vineyards, RidgeView Cottages provide a secluded oasis to escape and unwind. And most importantly, the cottages are a short stroll from RidgeView’s award-winning Cellar Door and Restaurant, so you can fully immerse yourself in your Hunter Valley experience without the consequences!

Choose from four cottages, beautifully spaced amongst the trees and around the lake, providing guests with the utmost in privacy and comfort. RidgeView boasts two king bedroom cottages (one bedroom) and two queen bedroom cottages (two bedrooms and two bathrooms).

Each cottage has been tastefully and lovingly appointed with great attention to detail and comes equipped with an indoor spa bath and a large two-person shower. The luxurious king bedroom cottages also have an outdoor, undercover jacuzzi and sauna on the wrap-around verandah.

The cottages are all self-contained with a fully equipped kitchen and undercover outdoor dining area and BBQ.

Air conditioning and log fires create the ideal inside atmosphere while outside, the award-winning “infinity edge” swimming pool, gazebo for picnics and rebound ace tennis court await your private use.

For the more adventurous, why not take 'Happy Hour' or 'Half Shot', one of the resident rowboats out on the lake for some alone-time with your significant other, or follow a walking trail around the 22-acre working vineyard.

With so many on-site activities to enjoy, your entire weekend in the Hunter Valley can be enjoyed at RidgeView; they even have your gourmet dining covered. Whether you are looking for a long lunch with friends or a romantic evening for two watching the sunset over the vines, RidgeView Restaurant is perfect for summer alfresco dining.

The restaurant team utilises an on-site, award-winning, herb and vegetable garden along with quality local produce to create mouth-watering Mediterranean and Middle Eastern-inspired dishes.

Next year Darren and Tracey Scott, owners of RidgeView, celebrate 20 years in the Hunter Valley after purchasing the 40-hectare property in 2000. Named "RidgeView" due to the fact that it is located on one of the highest points on Sweetwater Ridge Estate and came with such magnificent views, the duo often describe the property as their “little slice of heaven,” and we must admit – you’d be hard pushed to disagree.

A fabulous venue with fabulous people, wines, food and views - make sure to include RidgeView on the top of your list of places to stay when you next visit the Hunter Valley. For bookings and more information about RidgeView Cottages visit www.ridgeview.com.au or phone 0419 475 221.
