COVID-19 Update: Cancelled and Postponed Events in the Hunter Valley


On March 11th The World Health Organization ( WHO) declared COVID-19 a pandemic. The Federal and State Governments have announced the recommendation that all non-essential events with 500+ people should be cancelled from Monday 16th March. A number of Hunter Valley events have been cancelled or postponed amid health concerns for the spread of coronavirus.

Lovedale Long Lunch - CANCELLED

It is with great disappointment that the Executive Committee of the Lovedale Long Lunch must advise that the 2020 Lovedale Long Lunch will not go ahead as the unprecedented crisis of COVID-19 takes effect. Hunter Valley Gardens - CLOSED

Hunter Valley Gardens has been temporarily closed.Following the Federal Government’s revised social distancing announcement, Hunter Valley Gardens will close from Thursday 25th March 2020 until further notice. For more information visit: www.huntervalleygardens.com.au

Hunter Valley Gardens Easter Celebrations - CANCELLED

The upcoming planned Easter celebrations at Hunter Valley Gardens are cancelled and the Mega Creatures event will be postponed until the September school holidays. Kurri Kurri Nostalgia Festival- CANCELLED

The Gum Ball- POSTPONED

The Gum Ball is moving from it's original intended dates of April 24th-26th 2020 to join forces with our sister event Dashville Skyline, for one huge party in the bush over the October Long Weekend,

Maitland Regional Art Gallery's Events - POSTPONED

As a precaution to slow the spread of COVID-19, Maitland Regional Art Gallery's public programs have been suspended until 30 April 2020. This includes public talks, workshops, children's programs and events. Maitland Regional Art Gallery will be maintaining normal operating hours.

The National Trust is closing Miss Porter's House Museum until 30th June 2020.

Whilst they are disappointed that the festival is having to be postponed until further notice, the health and safety of local businesses, the local community, vendors, organisers & visitors is paramount.
