Need a market fix NOW?!

With the reopening of the cellar doors and restaurants in the Hunter Valley Vineyards, we are getting numbers of enquiries about whether Handmade in the Hunter Markets will be reopening at the same time. Unfortunately, markets are not allowed to reopen just yet.

However, we are as ready as you are to get back to work.

Not that long ago, the romantic idea of starving artists in the attics of Paris is now very much a reality here in Australia. Many artistic people have found that the only way they can be the passionate creatives they are, is to make their art and sell in markets. Waiting for people to find their work in galleries isn’t financially feasible, so they take their handmade works to markets to earn their living. With the closure of markets, this ability to live off their creativity was taken away by lock down. While some were able to transition to selling on-line, for others it just didn’t work since their social media reach was small. Needless to say, we are impatiently waiting to get back into our market year.

We, just like you, need a market fix! In light of this, we will be running an on-line market on Saturday, 6 June from 9am to 3pm and would love for you to join in the fun and get your retail therapy on. In doing so, you will be supporting our hardworking local creatives. Sounds like a win/win to me!

To participate, click “interested” on our online market event listing and facebook will send you reminders about it happening. On the day, once again go to the event listing, click on it and then click on the “Discussion” tab. We will be there with our awesome handmade treasures waiting to chat with you.

Can’t wait to see you at our virtual market!
