Parking patrols to resume as normal

In early April, Cessnock City Council, along with most other NSW local government areas adopted a flexible approach to parking enforcement due to COVID-19 and the associated restrictions.

As restrictions continue to lift including tourism resuming, normal parking patrols and enforcement will return across the Cessnock Local Government Area from Tuesday 9 June.

We’re starting to see an increase of traffic on local roads and the safety of all road users is paramount.

Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent said this is vital as school has returned.

“We all need to be complying with parking rules as it’s about keeping the community safe, particularly in schools zones where our most vulnerable are on foot getting to and from school.”
