Go For Broke and Support Our Community
For those of you who may not have seen it on the news, a flood unlike any other hit Broke a little over a week ago.
The town of Broke has been massively impacted, with nearly all houses flooded and many residents losing all their homes and belongings. Roads and Bridges were swept away. Power has only recently come back on after power poles were destroyed by the floods.
Many people have asked what they can do to show support for the region and there’s plenty you can do to show your support. Visit the cellar door and restaurants – many of which will be reopening this weekend (call to check opening times), book a winter escape with your favourite Broke-Fordwich accommodation or visit a winery website to purchase their wines online.
You can also help by donating to either of the community-based funds via the links below.
The Broke Residents Community Association are managing a gofundme page where you can donate with 100% of funds going directly to those left without homes and insurance policies that don’t cover flood damage.
The GIVIT website manages offers of donated goods, services, volunteering and funds, including corporate offers.
