Showcase your pet as part of Walls that Talk
The front wall of Maitland Library has been curated with an array of exhibitions over the years and Maitland City Council is looking to the local community to help curate the next exhibition.
With the current public health orders in place and many people spending a lot more of their time at home, pets are lapping up the additional attention.
To celebrate the importance of pets especially during the current climate, Council is asking the community to snap a picture of their pet and submit it to be considered as one of the nine to be featured as part of the temporary exhibition.
Council’s Senior Place Activation Officer Portia Wendt says, 'Our pets play an important role in our lives and are definitely benefitting from the current stay at home public health orders. I've seen many more people out and about walking or just simply spending more time with their pets over the last six weeks.'
We are looking for nine pets that live in Maitland that we can share with the community through this exhibition and hopefully bring a smile to people's faces. We want to see pets big and small and from domestic dogs and cats to rural chickens, cows and horses’.
Submissions are open now until Friday 15 May. For full details including how to make a submission, terms and conditions visit maitland.nsw.gov.au/walls-that-talk
