Christmas Comes Early to Hunter Valley Gardens
Christmas is arriving early in Hunter Valley Wine Country this year with the Hunter Valley Gardens Christmas Lights Spectacular, the biggest and brightest Christmas lights display in Australia, flicking the switch on Friday 30 October, giving families even more time to make it part of their festive season.
Step into a world where Christmas magic comes alive after dark. Wander through glowing tunnels, marvel at giant Christmas trees and snap photos at immersive displays as millions of dazzling lights transform the Gardens into a wonderland for all ages.
This year unveils enchanting new realms, including the shimmering Celestial Snowfields and the sweetly spiced Gingerbread Way, alongside an expanded Planes, Trains and Automobiles precinct bursting with colour and festive charm. From snowy surrounds and twinkling trees to candy-coated laneways and Rudolph skiing, there's something to delight everyone.
Live entertainment, rides (additional cost), and festive treats round out an evening made for making memories, sharing photos, and returning year after year.
The Christmas Lights Spectacular runs from Friday 30 October 2026 to Sunday 31 January 2027, open from 5.30pm to 10.30pm (last entry 9.30pm). Rides operate from 6pm to 10pm, with ride ticket sales closing at 9.30pm and the last ride at 9.45pm.
Planning a full day out? The Gardens are open from 9am to 4.30pm (last entry 3.30pm). Please note all visitors, including Day/Night ticket holders, must exit by 4.30pm before the lights open at 5.30pm.
