There's something quietly special about Joey's Lane. Set on a sweeping 37-acre estate in Lovedale, this boutique vineyard has been part of the local landscape for more than 40 years, and in 2025, it entered an exciting new chapter under the ownership of Terrie-jo Pannowitz (Joey), a woman with a clear vision and a warm heart for country hospitality.
"I wanted to create a destination that feels welcoming, personal, and authentically connected to the Hunter Valley lifestyle," Joey explains.
"For me, it's more than a winery. It's a place where families, couples, and friends can create lasting memories." Some of her favourite moments are the simplest ones: watching her grandchildren feed the chickens and wandering the beautiful grounds, soaking up the same country life she wants every visitor to
experience. It's that genuine, unhurried spirit that sets Joey's Lane apart from the moment you arrive.
When it comes to wine, Joey is equally passionate. The estate's established vineyards produce four classic Hunter Valley varieties: Semillon, Shiraz, Chardonnay and Frontignac, each thriving in Lovedale's distinctive terroir.
"Our Semillon and sparkling range are particularly representative of the Hunter Valley's world-renowned winemaking tradition. It is often regarded as a standout expression of the estate," says Joey.
Alongside the wine, the cellar door café serves expertly made barista coffee, and the property's signature alcoholic slushies have quickly become a talking point in their own right.
The accommodation is where Joey's Lane truly sets itself apart. Staghorn Manor is the centrepiece, a luxurious five-bedroom residence ideal for larger groups and family gatherings, while romantic tiny homes offer couples something altogether more intimate.
"They feature spacious decks and open-air clawfoot baths where guests can unwind beneath the stars while overlooking the vineyards and the magnificent Brokenback Range," Joey says.
