Crafting Classic Hunter Varietals with Community Spirit
Kelman is a well-established boutique vineyard in a quiet corner of the Parish of Pokolbin below Mount View.
Focusing on classic Hunter varietals, Kelman planted Semillon in 1996 and enjoyed the first harvest in 1999. Chardonnay and Shiraz soon followed, and the first awards arrived in 2000.
Hundreds of medals and awards later, the vineyard is recognised as a boutique winery that consistently makes classic Hunter varietals with skill and a refined touch. The product range has expanded to include an award-winning Blanc de Blanc Sparkling Chardonnay, Tempranillo and Rose, plus some exciting blends and Muscat-based wines.
As you would expect from a quality winery, the estate is home to a stunning cellar door that offers a tasting experience at Kelman that goes beyond the norm - with a personalised tutored tasting on offer for all visitors. Kelman Vineyard involves the community in their wine process, from handpicking grapes during harvest time to helping manage the cellar door and inviting residents, friends, and family to help out as volunteers.
