With the October long weekend on the calendar, Hunters Quarter is shaping up as the reason to linger an extra night in the Valley.

Perched within Pooles Rock Vineyard, the restaurant's floor-toceiling views take in vines and mountains in every direction, a fitting backdrop for a kitchen that leans hard into local Spring produce. Chef Brian Duncan, who trained in London's grand hotel kitchens before settling in the Hunter, keeps things simple and seasonal rather than showy, whether you're working through the à la carte menu or handing the reins over to the five-course degustation. There's a kids' menu and a vegan menu too.
