2017 Three Ponds Holman Nero D’Avola

The Nero D’Avola varietal is most famous in Sicily, on the slopes of the Etna Volcano. Mt Eyre Vineyards has pioneered the varietal in the Hunter Valley in the volcanic soils of Holman Estate Vineyard. Tasting of this wine is available daily at The Garden Cellars.

TASTING A rich palate displaying sweet cherries and plums with subtle oak, black pepper notes and subtle tannins.

FOOD MATCH Red meat and poultry as well as cheeses.

2020 Classic Hunter Valley Shiraz

Savannah Estate Wines are produced from small select parcels of premium fruit grown in renowned viticulture regions throughout Australia. This Hunter Valley Premium Shiraz is soft, dry and long in true Hunter Shiraz style.

Following in the tradition of the Trophy-winning 2017 vintage, this classic medium bodied Hunter Valley Shiraz was handpicked from an exceptional vintage and drawn from the best 5 new and seasoned French oak barrels.

TASTING It displays blue and red fruits and fine grained tannins. Wonderful length and finish.

Our flagship estate Shiraz from only 4 acres of premium 40 year old vines. The terra rossa soils of the Pokolbin Hills create a full flavour & amazing depth for the “H.A.E”. The 2018 vintage was outstanding with hot, dry conditions resulting in an intense Shiraz with deep purple hues.

Petersons Wine

2018 Petersons Block 2 Cabernet Sauvignon – Mudgee

COLOUR Very dark, almost blackberry juice in colour with magenta and purple hues.

NOSE Ripe and juicy with lifted fruit aromas of stewed black fruits. This is supported by herbaceous nuances of rosemary and dried basil. There are also hints of vanilla bean and a waft of freshly roasted coffee.

TASTING Full bodied, layered, complex and long. The upfront fruit flavours are of ripe and juicy blood plum and mulberry. The mid palate is multi layered with biscuit like flavour, a slight herbal flavour of fresh lavender and hints of aniseed. The back palate is dry and astringent, yet soft and approachable.

FOOD MATCH Seared aged lamb rump with sweet potato mash and green beans, cassoulet, aged pecorino.
