They said they wanted it back, and PACC listened. Bohemian Rhapsody, Australia's longest-running Queen tribute, returns to Cessnock for one night only on Saturday, 18 July 2026, and if you missed it last time, this is your chance.
At the heart of the show is Thomas Crane, an internationally celebrated performer whose portrayal of Freddie Mercury is something you really do need to see to appreciate. The energy, the theatrics, the vocal range, and that unmistakable stage presence, it's all there.
And the material he has to work with is extraordinary. Bohemian Rhapsody, released in 1975, defied every convention: a six-minute epic spanning multiple genres, from ballad to operatic pastiche to hard rock, all stitched together with seamless brilliance. It has since become the most-streamed song of the 20th century, with its accompanying music video becoming the first pre-1990s video to surpass one billion views on YouTube. That's the kind of catalogue Thomas gets to draw from.
Expect a powerful journey through Queen's greatest hits from the 70s to the 90s, including Somebody to Love, Another One Bites the Dust, Don't Stop Me Now, and of course, the anthem itself. Thomas also brings live piano to the stage, adding another layer to what is already a high-energy, immersive night out.
Presented by BME International and backed by a full live band, this production has been touring to sell-out audiences across Australia since 1993. PACC is a great room for it, intimate enough to feel every moment, big enough to let the songs breathe the way they deserve.
