New city signage for Maitland

Council has today commenced implementation of the next phase of the Brand Maitland Signage Program across the city which will see 155 signs installed across 49 suburbs.
Mayor of Maitland, Cr Loretta Baker says ‘The commencement of this phase is a significant step in the continuation of branding our city’s appearance.
‘It was an honour to be onsite for the installation of the first sign this morning, which will enhance the warm welcome we, as a city, extend to our visitors and evoke a sense of pride for our citizens’.
The aim of the Brand Maitland Signage Program and installation of the new signage is to welcome visitors to our city, provide pride of place for our residents and act as identifiers for local suburbs.
The Brand Maitland Signage Program commenced in 2015 with the roll out of branded street blade signage which can be seen in all new suburb developments and on a renewal basis across the city.
Following the installation of signage under the current phase, which is expected to be complete by July 2020, the next phase of the Brand Maitland Signage Program will see an additional 14 gateway signs installed at locations on the highway and other city entry points across the Maitland local government area.
