Council To Makeover Shopfronts For Small Business Month

Maitland City Council, with support from the NSW Government, is presenting a free program for local businesses as part of NSW Small Business Month from 1 to 31 October.

Council is inviting small businesses in Maitland to join a free visual merchandising program, kicking off with a workshop on Thursday 8 October 2020 4.00pm to 5.30pm, via Zoom.

The workshop is being run by Carol Bagaric, founder of Retail Revamp, who has over 20 years’ experience working with retailers. During this workshop, she will be sharing tips and strategies on how to maximise retail environments and inviting discussion from participants.

Coordinator City and Visitor Economy Caroline Booth says ‘Maitland is home to a diverse small to medium business sector, and Small Business Month is a great opportunity for operators to tap into free training, networks and resources.

‘Recognising that 2020 has been a challenging year for our retailers, Council is delighted to present this program to energise and celebrate our local retail industry.

’Maitland businesses who participate in the workshop are eligible to sign up for a free visit from Bagaric from 27 to 28 October, where she will provide practical visual merchandising help.

Flight Dance Supplies, in East Maitland, have been chosen for a shop window makeover by Bagaric on 15 October 2020, from 10.00am to 2.00pm. Businesses and customers are invited to watch the makeover at the location, with social distancing required.
