Maitland Gaol
TUESDAY 2 JANUARY - TUESDAY 23 JANUARY
In the 19th century, it was a weekly task to churn butter for many families, and it was also the process at Maitland Gaol. One of the prisoner farm workers was allocated to churning cream to make butter. Children are invited to experience this first-hand with a one-hour guided tour of the Gaol before learning the old way to make butter. Afterwards, there will be bread available for all to see what the butter tastes like. To book tickets and more, visit www.maitlandgaol.com.au
