Hunter Valley Gardens Christmas Lights Spectacular is back again for 2023, ready to brighten up your holiday season with more illuminating attractions than ever before! The Southern Hemisphere’s largest light display kicked off earlier this month and will run through to 28 January 2024 to enable visitors to make even more lifelong memories.

With a wondrous 4 million lights on display this year, families can explore over eight acres of breathtaking light displays, as well as enjoy the accompanying rides and performances while grabbing a bite along the way.

There is something for the whole family with the extensive program of entertainment and attractions set to take over the Hunter Valley Gardens across Summer.

As Australia’s biggest light display, the Christmas Lights Spectacular is the perfect mid-week or weekend escape - only 2.5 hours out of Sydney or just under an hour from Newcastle. Attendees and thrill seekers alike will be able to enjoy the traditional family favourites that have returned this year, such as the spectacular 35-metre-long Superslide for the bold and daring, accompanied by an incredible Ferris Wheel for those who prefer to relax and soak up the view. The classic Swing Chairs, a traditional Venetian Carousel and Spinning Teacups will make it an unmissable event.

The packed show program is ready to dazzle guests, including the wandering comedy and magic performers, or the It’s a Grooving Christmas energetic live kids show.

“We’re excited to see new and familiar faces back at the Hunter Valley Gardens this year to experience the magic of Christmas. With a massive 4 million lights, thrilling rides, epic displays, and live shows this year, we are so excited to be part of making those unforgettable family memories over the Christmas and Summer period,” said Kim Jacobs, Hunter Valley Gardens’ Marketing Manager.

“This Christmas Lights Spectacular has the family holiday card sorted, with more photo opportunities than ever across the grounds, including with the 14-metre-tall Christmas tree or the giant 2.5-metre illuminated Santa.”

Families can also take a picture with Santa Claus at an additional cost to cap off all the fun. Enter a new world with the family, including the Twinkle Tree Trail, Mr & Mrs Claus, Giant Dandelions, Santa’s Arch & Candy Cane Tunnel, and the new Twelve Days of Christmas LED Display.

If all this fun makes you hungry, feed the family with an abundance of food and beverage options available throughout the grounds, including woodfired pizza, burgers and chips and nachos. Have a sweet tooth? Enjoy family favourites, including doughnuts, churros, fairy floss, ice cream and even a cookie pizza!
