Summer in the Hunter Valley brings long days, warm evenings, and the perfect excuse to explore new wine destinations – and at Latitude 32 Wines on Hermitage Road, the festive season offers something extraordinary for visitors seeking a fresh experience.
Just over a year since opening their doors, Emma and David White's boutique winery has quickly become one of the region's most exciting destinations. The former UK corporate executives, who describe themselves as reformed "wine chasers," have created something uniquely compelling with their philosophy of "fun with serious intent."
The winery's recent addition of head winemaker Adam Holmberg brings fresh energy to the summer season. Holmberg, who brings experience from renowned Hunter Valley establishments Tyrell's and Leogate, is pushing boundaries while maintaining Latitude 32's fruit first philosophy.
"Emma has given me free rein, and I'm excited to push the boundaries of tradition without losing the quality," Adam explains.

The cellar door experience captures summer perfectly. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame spectacular views of the vineyards and Brokenback Mountains, while multiple seating options – from the expansive verandah to lawn areas – invite visitors to settle in and stay awhile. The freedom to purchase wine by the glass and wander the property creates the perfect summer-afternoon adventure, whether exploring the vines, lounging by the dam, or enjoying giant Connect Four and Jenga on the lawn.
The innovative dumpling and wine pairing experience offers something unique for festive gatherings – various flavour combinations from pork and prawn to Szechuan beef, as well as vegetarian options that complement the wine range beautifully. The dog-friendly environment and fire pit enhance the welcoming atmosphere of summer evenings.
The wine portfolio balances Hunter Valley tradition with innovation. Classic offerings include traditional Hunter Semillon, two distinct Chardonnay styles, Shiraz, and a Méthode Traditionelle sparkling wine perfect for celebrations. The Rosé, crafted from Shiraz, offers ideal summer sipping. But it's The Enigma – a white wine made from 45-yearold Pinot Noir vines – that genuinely captures their innovative spirit.
This summer, Latitude 32 represents more than just another Hunter Valley cellar door – it's where tradition and innovation come together to create the perfect festive-season experience.
