No card? No worries! While we’re in lockdown and our libraries have temporarily closed, residents of the Cessnock Local Government Area can still access their libraries online.

 

Sign up now to access a huge range of free eBooks, eMagazines, eMusic, eFilms, documentaries and TV shows to keep you (and the kids) entertained at home.


The Cessnock City Library 24/7 eBranch is always open and can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection. It’s also free to join. Members have access to:

Over 3,000 eBook and eAudio titles for adults and kids


Libby

Access over 300 eMag subscriptions including Women’s Weekly, ABC Gardening Australia, Who, Wheels, Money Magazine, Woman’s Day and kids’ magazines plus more than 1,500 audiobooks.


Indy Reads

A great collection of independent Australian and international titles, classic literature and modern award winning titles in eBook and eAudio format.


Story Box Library

Over 300 stories for children read by Australian actors, comedians, illustrators and other personalities. Stories have been read by Justine Clarke, Nick Cave, Missy Higgins, Andy Griffiths and Jimmy Rees.


Freegal

Download and own up to five songs per week free from a library of over 15 million songs. 24 hour music streaming.


Studiosity

Students from years three to 12 can get free online homework and study help in real time, from real subject specialists. The online staff are professional educators and academics. They can help with all core subjects: Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English and writing, assignment research, and more.


Council’s Library Services Co-ordinator, Rose-marie Walters is inviting residents to visit the library website and join.


After completing the online form, residents will receive an automatically generated temporary membership number. Library staff will then email an official membership number so you can start using our 24/7 eBranch.
